Outdoor Activities in Leesburg

If you prefer outdoor activities and plan to visit Leesburg soon, you won’t regret it. This town has a lot to offer, and you surely won’t get bored. No matter if you are travelling alone, or you are taking your kids with you on this trip, you will spend some quality time here.  

Leesburg Animal Park 

One of the places that you need to visit when in Leesburg is an animal park. It is an excellent choice both for children and adults. Of course, it can’t be compared to the DC Zoo, but it has a lot to offer. If you visit it, you will have a chance to get up close to animals, and touch and feed some of them. Something like this will be an excellent experience for your kids. They can also try pony ride or camel ride. It is worth spending some money on these rides as your children will surely love it.

If you visit this town during the Halloween season, you will have a chance to see attractive animal exhibits. There is also a play area with a train, a pirate ship, and big slides. Leesburg Animal Park has a lot to offer, from petting animals to camels, zebras, tortoises, to small reptiles and mammals. Just don’t forget to bring a sunscreen if you are planning to visit it on a sunny day, especially if you intend to spend most of the time outdoors rather than indoors, as there is not a lot of shade. 

Ida Lee Park 

It is another place that you need to visit if you are in Leesburg. It is an excellent destination if you are visiting this town in summer. Many people travel to this town just because of the pool. You will be able to enjoy a warm and sunny day without feeling hot as you will have a chance to cool down. You have a variety of options to choose from, from a regular pool for swimming to a lazy river, multiple water slides and obstacle courses. If you get hungry, you can visit a snack shack.

No matter if you are going alone, or with your family, you will have a great time. Your children won’t want to leave this place. Additionally, it is very affordable; you need to set aside $9 for entry if you are not a Leesburg resident and $6 if you are. If you bring your children here, it will cost you $8 or $5. As you can see, it is cheap compared to other places similar to this one. Just one advice – arrive there a little early if you want to find a place in the shade, and avoid long lines. 

Phillip A. Bolen Memorial Park 

It is an excellent sports complex with nice fields, and it is located next to the Leesburg airport. 15 fields are available, and most of them have lights. Each of them has a great grass surface and can accommodate almost every team sport. No matter if you love playing football, baseball, soccer, or lacrosse, you should visit this location. It is well-built and nicely maintained, and there is plenty of free parking spaces.
